With elements of improvisation and voicing based on counterpoint techniques, MOJNA has developed an original and unique sound. This Swedish/Norwegian trio, formerly known as Eriksson/Myhr/Malmström, performs newly composed, inventive Nordic folk on guitar, Hardanger fiddle, and clarinet/bass clarinet.

In 2022 they released their debut album "För Sola Skin' På Tak” which received widespread critical acclaim and earned them the title of "Instrumental Band of the Year" by Lira Music Magazine. The album was also nominated for awards at the Swedish “Manifestgalan” and the Folk & World Music Gala 2023.

Thomas Eriksson (composer / guitar)
Helga Myhr (Hardanger fiddle)
Anna Malmström (clarinet / bass clarinet)

“Eriksson/Myhr/Malmström’s (MOJNA) first but hardly last album, För sola skin' på tak, is chosen as the album of the year in this category, where guitarist Thomas Eriksson's exquisite compositions are formed in close, listening interaction with Helga Myhr on Hardanger fiddle and Anna Malmström on bass clarinet. A record that we returned to throughout the year. Continuously evocative music to both rest to and be revived by.”

— Lira Musikmagasin

"Creative clarinet/bass clarinet, Hardanger fiddle and guitar lines (plus Myhr's stunning vocal parts) dovetail in an exquisite highly original mix of inventive counterpoint and sparkling melodies. This is a beautiful musical conversation, worthy of recognition on an international level as one of the best recordings of 2022."

— Barry Livingston, Wholenote Magazine

"You almost get the feeling that this is music from the borderland between classical composition music and fiddler's music when you listen closely. It is beautiful and virtuosic, and it is not least a joy to see the musicians working together."

— Rootszone.dk

"...and all the way through, this sounds brilliant. The arrangements are well-crafted and each of the three musicians stands out in the sound, almost making you want to jump up from your chair and throw yourself into the dance. Because this is infectious music that I believe brings out the best in the listener."
